AT@Work is a Dutch network of professionals from government, academia, NGOs and the private sector who are interested in the large-scale market introduction of appropriate water and sanitation technologies. In 2003, the Netherlands Water Partnership-NGO platform, launched an initiative to promote household water solutions by advocating the Appropriate Technology (AT) approach. This induced the set up of a specific platform on AT promotion: AT@Work.
The objective of the network is to help reduce the proportion of people without access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation, in accordance with the Millennium Development Goals. AT@Work aims to achieve this by initiating, structuring and supporting feasibility studies and demonstration projects; promoting sustainable practices in order to secure long-term market acceptance and use and transferring knowledge on all aspects of the market introduction of appropriate water and sanitation technologies.
The AT@Work network includes representatives from NGOs, financing institutes, knowledge centers, innovators and the private sector.
