Software development portal

The Akvo software development team are using a number of tools to aid the process of developing software. This page acts as a portal to collect all the links and short descriptions of the tools that are in use.

Project management

We were using Pivotal Tracker to track software development tasks. To see tasks which have not been started yet, click the "Icebox" button in the main toolbar.

Generally we only track tasks we have committed to do in Pivotal Tracker, although you often find stray items in there serving as reminders about something or another, not promises. :)

Issues tracking system

We use Lighthouse to track issues, bugs and new things to be developed.

Source code repository

We use Github, in combination with git, as our source code repository. If you are interested in participating in the Akvo RSR project, please contact us.

Bookmarking

We use (well, actually were using, not for a while) Delicious as our team bookmarking tool, to keep track of stuff that we want to look into later.

Supporting documents

A long time ago we wrote a document called the Akvo systems platform selection, which may give some insight into why we picked the components we did that make up the Akvo Platform.
