How to fund a project

Individuals

If you are an individual who would like to donate to a project, please browse to the project you want to fund and click 'DONATE'. You can than donate through PayPal or iDeal.

Companies and institutions

If you represent a company, foundation, or other institution, and would like to donate to an Akvo project, you can become a funding partner in the Akvo system. We will then display the name and logo of your organisation.

Here's how the donation process works:

1. Download the Akvo Donation form
2. Fill in the form using Adobe Acrobat Reader, save it, and send it back to parters(at)akvo.org
3. Transfer the total donation amount to the bank account mentioned in the form.

Once the donation is confirmed, we will:

• Feature you as a project funder on the specific project page
• Provide you with instructions on how to use Akvo tools to embed your projects in your own website
• Notify the project partners and transfer the donation directly to their bank account.

The Akvo Foundation is a non-profit organisation. Although the startup of Akvo has been subsidised, we believe that in the long run, the Akvo services should be self-sustainable, and not be dependent on subsidies.

That is why we ask organisations and institutions to contribute a 2% fee on top of their donation, which helps cover the cost of running and improving the Akvo platform.
