Summary
Proposed vocational cum skill training program can act as a platform were youth can be capacitated in vocational courses, such as: computer courses, accounting and tally, bedside patient attendant, cellular phone/wheelchair/cycle repair, spoken English, social activities, presentation and communication, sewing, knitting and embroidery. Major aim will be to capacitate these trainees and mainstream them with the competitive labour market so that they can earn their livelihood.

Detailed information
Justification for the project:
Poverty is prevalent in Bihar state due to this most of the youth are unable to take education as fees are very high. In Bihar the job market demands only the skilled candidates.
Children of Lord Buddha Home for Children village don't have any outlets to acquire proffesional skills. Youth of the area around the village are also frustrated due to unemployment and indulge in playing cards and alcoholism. In proposed project area some of the unskliied workforce is in unorganized sector, where their exploitation level is high and no career growth hence the inherent leadership quality of youth is subdued. Imparting the vocational cum skill training at minimal fees to the candidates of Lord Buddha Home Children village and youths of Bodhgaya district of Bihar will eneable candidates to acquire professional ability but also in large reduce the unemployment rate.

Road show: done twice, will be done every 3 months for mobilize the youths to come to the training centre.

On job training and placement: will start at 1 September 2011.
Mentor network: en course
Market scan: investigate the labour market and try to identify the trades in which the job oportunities are maximum.
Curriculum development: the data collected from market scan will be analyzed. In accordancew to the demand of market we devlop the course content.
Road show: show will take place around 10 km radius including rural and urban areas. Pamphlet distribution, milking, banner display etc. will be done to mobilize the youths to register an enroll in skill training centre.
Faulty recruitment: the advertisement will be flashed in print media and applications will be invited at coordination office NBJK.
Training of trainers: for projectstaf. Different aspects of program and methodologies to implement the project in smooth place will be discussed at length.
Medical examination: all trainees get a medical examination and assistance with any medical problems.
Classroom activities: in the training centre there theorie classes will be conducted by respective faculties according to curriculum and routine. Duration of classroom activities will be 4 months and covering 8 hours a day. After that practical classes will done where the trainees will come to know the things by doing themselves.
Work readiness: the trainees will be groomed in the training centre in various aspects. They will be groomed in a manner so that they can prepare their own resumes, face interviews and be capable to fulfill the requirement of jobs.
On job training and placement: the trainees will be placed in trade related enterprise or institution to know how about the requierment of job.
Mentor network: building a healthy relation with the enterprise and institution personell. By organizing meeting and collaborating with them in different field of the project, so tha tin future the job can be easily provide the trainees.
Target Group:
Children enrolled in the Lord Buddha Home for Children village
Unemployed disaventaged youths including boys, girls and college drop outs and disabled from adjoining villages around the Lord Buddha Home for Children village.
Youth:
-Follow a vocational training to increase changes in the labour market so that they can earn their own cost of living.
-Get encouragement from their parents/care takers to take changes to get work.
-Get theroretical classes and practical classes to come to know the things by doing itselves
-Get a mentor who give them coaching and advices by starting a job and afterwards.
-Get a medical check up and help by medical problems.
-Get budget advice and learn to save up money.
Goals
- 2000 young people will follow the program
- 75% of them will pass the theoretical exams
- 75% of them will follow and finished a internship
- 75% of them will have a job or run a bussiness afterwards
- local economy will have a important 50% impulse
In order to sustain the program from 4th year strong goverment linkages will be ensured and student contribution will also be increased.
