Max Foundation

The Max Foundation was established with the goal of combating child mortality. In Bangladesh, the Max Foundation currently reduces child mortality through the support of micro-sanitation projects. Micro-sanitation combines the provision of water wells and latrines with education about hygiene. This approach is the most effective and efficient form of reducing - or actually preventing child mortality.

Additionally, the Max Foundation is striving to persuade other development organizations to place more emphasis on similar programs. This accords well with another objective of the Max Foundation: to increase the awareness of program yield and effectiveness within the development sector.

The Max Foundation has three guiding principles:

1. No overhead in the Netherlands as the directors reimburse all operational costs.
2. Selecting projects where the most can be achieved for the money invested.
3. Feedback regarding donations.
