How to sign up for an Akvo RSR account

Please use your Akvo RSR account as a personal account, used only by yourself. If a colleague needs to make an update, he or she can easily sign up too. This is for accountability, so we understand who is actually making project updates.

To register for an Akvo RSR account:

1. On the Akvo.org web site, find the Registration link at the top right of the page, just underneath the "Sign in" button. Click the Register link.

2. On the "Set up your account" page, choose your organisation from the Select the organisation you belong to pull down menu.

If you don't see your organisation on the pull down menu check the following: is your organisation listed under an acronym name? For example, Women in Europe for a Common Future appears under the short name WECF. look for your organisation on the Akvo RSR organisation listing. If your organisation is not listed, please contact us to start the partnership procedure.

3. When you have selected your organisation, click the Continue button.

4. Fill in the following information:

• user name. Your user name will be permanent. Use this to log into Akvo. Remember that user names as well as passwords are case sensitive.
• first name (given name) and last name (family name). Your first and last name will be displayed when you post comments or updates to Akvo.

• password. Please choose a password that nobody else knows and keep this secret. Make the password at least six characters and a mix of letters and numbers. Retype the password to verify it has been entered correctly.
• email address. This is the email address where verification email will be sent. Retype the email address to verify it has been entered correctly.

5. When you are done, click Register. A Thank you! page will appear, and a registration verification email will be sent to the address you supplied.

6. The email can take several minutes to arrive. If you don't receive an email, please do check your Junk mailbox in case it has mistakenly been filed there. The mail will be from noreply@akvo.org

7. In the registration email, click the link in the email to verify you have received the email and automatically send a message to an Akvo RSR administrator regarding your registration.

8. After your information has been verified your account will be enabled. This verification can take several days, so please be patient. You will receive an email once the account has been enabled.

9. Done.
