How to enable an Akvo RSR user account

If you are an Akvo RSR organisation administrator you will get an email every time a user registers an Akvo RSR account with your organisation:

Organisation: ''your organisation name''

A new user has registered under your organisation in Akvo.

Name: A.N.Other
Username ANOther
Email: a.n.other@example.com

Please check the credentials of this user and then activate here:

To enable this user's Akvo RSR account:

1. Click on the link in the notification email. This will bring you to the "Change user profile" page of that user's account. If you are not logged in to your Akvo RSR user account, you will be prompted to do so.

2. IMPORTANT: Verify that the user is indeed someone that should have update access to your projects in Akvo RSR. Check:

• Is this person a member of your organisation or one of your partner organisations?
• Is this person someone who should have Akvo RSR update access on your projects?
• In the email you got, is the email address correct?
• Is the name correct?
• If there is anything which does not look right, do not enable the account, and contact | support@akvo.org.

2. If the user request is valid, enable the user: click the tick box account is active shown in the picture below.

3. Click the Save button at the bottom right of the page. This Akvo RSR user account is now active.

4. Copy the following sample text and paste into an email to the new user, editing the text as appropriate for your organisation and partners:

Dear A.N.Other,

Your Akvo RSR account has been enabled.
This means that you can now post updates to projects which are associated with your organisation.
Please read the short note about updates on the Akvo web site:

http://www.akvo.org/web/help_rsr_project_updates

Please use your Akvo RSR account as a personal account. If a colleague needs to make an update, he
or she can easily sign up too. This is for accountability, so we understand who is actually making
project updates.
